Humble Pie....in the face

A pie in your face and they laugh all the way to the bank.

If you make it through the initial Catechesis stage and find yourself in a small

group of about 15-25 people having gone through the “spur of the moment”retreat (haha, right, ok) you are now in a “community”...with a number assigned. At this point the “catechists” and priests likely have not even spoken the wordsNeocatechumenal Way, but they will be talking a lot about your suffering (much,

much more than you’ve heard in practically every single homily in the parish mass

thus far).  And by your suffering it’s not in a general sense of suffering, but your

specific suffering, and vices in life.  The aim is to get to know where you are weak-not to help you through that, but like good narcissists, to use it to their advantage.

Yikes, narcissists - if that seems a bit harsh, let us examine the foundation of the

Way.  The first step of the Way is ironically HUMILITY How can it be narcissistic

when the very first task is to learn humility?  Well, Kiko, content creator himself,

is the epitome of humility - really, let us count the ways:

All the songs you will sing - written by Kiko (maybe 2 exceptions)

All the music you will play - on the same instruments as Kiko; mainly a guitar

with nylon strings

The brass Crucifix - Kiko’s creation

The artwork - All Kiko’s work (well, sort of, he’s a copy cat that gives no credit to

the original work and inserts his face as Jesus as much as possible.  The ThoughtfulCatholic highlights that beautifully https://thoughtfulcatholic.com/?page_id=24You absolutely MUST get this image first

but definitely never this one: the one which he copied from the most famous Marian Monastery in Cyprus.

The chairs - Kiko’s

The set up - Kiko’s

The tapestries - Kiko’s

The stained glass - Kiko’s (well “together with the glassmaker Muñoz de Pablos)

The sculptures - Kiko’s (not really, it’s actually the work of sculptor Coomontes)

The architecture - Kiko’s creation, (well, again, the architect is actually Matteo del Prete)

The symphony - Kiko’s

The tabernacles - Kiko’s

The “Menorah” - Kiko’s - (lol, ok, it’s getting ridiculous;

https://thoughtfulcatholic.com/?page_id=45755)

The books, the sacred vessels, the candles, the spaceship  -

Kiko, Kiko Kiko; members even adopt Kiko’s accent and mannerisms!

You get the idea; it’s all Kiko
