NEW COMMUNITIES DISCOVERED!

Here at this blog, we tend to focus on certain dioceses as epicenters of Neocatechumenal activity, mainly because of the presence of Redemptoris Mater seminaries in those dioceses. However, because the Way is fundamentally "missionary," it naturally spreads to other places, as well.

For instance, we recently discovered a parish in the Diocese of Lansing, Michigan that advertises a Neocatechumenal community on its website. The same for this parish in the heart of New Orleans. Here they are at a parish cluster in San Francisco, and another one in Honolulu. This parish in Los Angeles boasts that their Neocatechumenal community has been there since 1978!

They've been to Detroit, where they were officially established by Archbishop Vigneron in 2017. Back in 2019, established communities welcomed Bishop Brennan to the Diocese of Fresno. They're on the roster of lay ecclesial movements for the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Of course, Las Cruces has no seminary, but they have a bishop.

Even if you have no RMS priests or seminaries in your diocese, where might your "families in mission" be hiding out? Is there a community or two scattered around your diocese? What do their host parishes know about them? How knowledgeable is the pastor?

Or maybe you just had some random strangers show up on your chancery doorstep one day wanting to proclaim the Gospel to you and your unwashed masses.

Eyes and ears open out there, friends.
